March 2011 Update

On December 24, several members from Paldani along with Santa Clause (Mr. Gomez) headed over to the Memorial West Hospital in Miramar. We handed out stuffed animals and candy canes to the children. On January 7-9, Paldani proudly attended the Winter Ordeal down at Camp Everglades. We had several candidates undergo the Ordeal along with one member sealing his ties in Brotherhood. All in all, it was a picturesque weekend filled with cheerful service. On January 10, Paldani held its monthly Chapter meeting. Several new members attended. Mr. Brown from our Chapter smoked a pork butt prior to the meeting and everyone was able to indulge in a pulled pork Cuban style dinner. Such business as the past Winter Ordeal along with the upcoming Ordeal was discussed. On February 13, Paldani had five members attend the Special Olympics. The day was spent serving breakfast and lunch to the attendees along with helping break down some tables and chairs. On February 15, Paldani had its annual fellowship at Bellante’s Pizzeria. Over sixty five members and their families attended. It was a great night of Brotherhood. On February 18-20, Paldani helped out at the Scoutmaster’s Camporee. On Friday we helped set up the Lodge Indian village. On Saturday we ran the vari-ous booths with the Lodge. And on Sunday we provided the Scout’s Own for the camp. On February 26, several of Paldani’s members helped out with a road clean up on Boy Scout Road by Camp Seminole. On March 4-6, Paldani proudly attended the Lodge Banquet in full force. At night several of our members received awards. William McKinley, Aaron Kudja, Colby Kudja, Kris Carter, Jake Cutler, John Semander, Kevin Innes, Andres Badel, Gabe Gutierrez, and myself all received LEC recognition plaques. Mathew Braun, Curran Butcher, Scooter Brandt, and Thornton Davis all received the First Year Arrowmen award. In addition, I am proud to say that this year Paldani won the Golden Pumpkin Award along with the Quest for the Rusted Arrow Award. Andres Badel received the Meritorious Service Award. And finally, Colby Kudja, Jake Cutler, Kevin Innes, and William McKinley all received the Vigil Honor. On March 7, Paldani cooked for the Seminole District Roundtable. We served hamburgers, hotdogs, chips, lemonade, and baked beans. Paldani is having a great year so far and looks forward to attending the Section Conference with as many members as possible. In addition, Paldani donated $100 to the Drum, Dance, and Ceremonies teams for their regalia. We will be hosting a Life to Eagle seminar on April 4 at our District Roundtable.
