December Update
On the weekend of October 22nd Hnu-Ra-Con successfully ran a Cub Scout display, full scare, display, several midway games, and an information booth at Haunted Forest. We had a large contingent that went up to Markham Park that not only set up and participated but played a huge role in cleaning up on Sunday morning. Hnu-Ra-Con sent up a few members up to Section Seminars. They had a great time and took a lot out of the seminars.
On December 4th Hnu-Ra-Con met with Pooca-Tooka at Denny's for a planning meeting for the construction of a float for the Junior Orange Bowl parade. After designs were made we once again met on December 17th at Hnu-Ra-Con's adviser Dave Kussner’s home. We constructed the frame of the float and assigned duties for all of the arrowmen. On January 2nd Hnu-Ra-Con along with Pooca-Tooka and O-Shot-Co-Chee participated in the Junior Orange Bowl parade. We were joined by Boy Scouts and Cub Scouts from all over South Florida Council and ended up winning most creative float design. Hnu-Ra-Con is looking forward to bringing a large contingent to the Winter Ordeal.
September Chapter Update
Hnu-Ra-Con had our first meeting of the year on August 2nd. We reviewed Summer Ordeal and started planning for Haunted Forest. Hnu-ra-con sent several representatives to LLD on August 20th. It was a great experience and much was learned. On September 5th, Hnura-con held its second Chapter meeting. We continued planning for Haunted Forest and discussed other upcoming events. The weekend of September 13-15th, Hnu-ra-con went out for a great weekend of fellowship at Fall Ordeal. We had a large number members in attendance with approximately 9 ordeal candidates and two Arrow men seal their ties. We
were unable to do our Brotherhood Bash, but that has motivated us to have a Brotherhood Bash that sets the bar at Winter Ordeal. At Fall Ordeal, I also had the honor of talking with the Southern Region Chief, Dwayne Fontenette, and Section Chief, O-Shot-Caw's own Frank Gamez. After meeting with Haunted Forest Chairman, RJ Hickman, and determining the location of our two displays, Hnu-ra-con is looking forward to taking back the Golden Pumpkin at Haunted Forest.
June 2011 Update
Hnu-Ra-Con supported the Lodge on April 8th-10th at Section Con-ference. We had a large contingent of brothers go out to support the Lodge. We had numerous brothers participate in all the games and competitions. Even when we weren't participating we were still rooting our fellow broth-ers on. Hnu-Ra-Con is proud to be a Chapter in most spirited and the Best All Around Lodge. During May we had a Chapter Fellowship at Bellante’s Pizza in Kendall. A large number of Brothers came out and we had a great time. We've had three meetings since April. The first one was celebrating the Lodge's victory in the Best All Around Competition. The second was a discussing Summer Ordeal and cooking. The meeting in June was reflecting on Summer Ordeal and making plans for next year. Hnu-Ra-Con has been very active in the southern region Drum Team and provided the location for the Drum Meetings. I met with adults from the Chapter and my advisor Dave Kussner at a Drum Team Meeting so we could plan cooking at Summer Ordeal. During this Summer Ordeal, our Chapter brothers were kept very busy. As the service Chapter we cooked all meals for the Lodge. Based on the initial plans of camping at Camp Seminole our Chapter prepared a Seminole style menu for the weekend. We served hot breakfasts on both Saturday and Sunday that consisted of scrambled eggs, hominy, and homemade muffins. For lunch we served "Seminole burgers" that resembled empanadas and the response was thumbs up and satisfied stomachs everywhere. For dinner we had 'surf and turf'. While cooking steaks the lights went out on us, we spent a good 6 minutes looking for other sources of light and judging the steaks in the dim moonlight. Finally, after the lights turned on we started serving our steaks and alligator tail nuggets and hush puppies. If that was not enough we really 'wowed' the crowd after we brought out dessert, peach cobbler. Overall it was a great weekend with interesting Lodge election results. Congratulations to all new Lodge Officers.

March 2011 Update
Hnu-Ra-Con Chapter has its Meetings the first Monday of every month at the LDS Church located next to Miami-Dade College. Hnu-Ra-Con Chapter attended the Winter Ordeal where we had 53 members attend. We had 28 candidates earned Ordeal status and 9 Arrowmen sealed their ties in the Brotherhood. We were also in charge of Brotherhood bash on Friday night but it was unfortunately canceled. On the weekend of March 4th through the 8th, we had a large attendance of over 40 members at Lodge Banquet. We had 3 Arrowmen seal their ties on Friday night. Also, on Friday night we hosted Brotherhood bash with a game of Brother Ball. All the Chapters had a great time playing and showing their spirit. On Saturday, we participated in all the events and won first place in Platform Pile Up, second in LodgeBall and Spam toss, and 3rd in Volleyball. Shockingly, we did not win the Golden Pumpkin award. We are now very motivated to win it back next year and are already planning for the next Haunted Forest. We were proud to have Michael Kussner and Evan Burr recognized for being members of the LEC. We look forward to Section Conference, April 8th-10th and plan on having a large attendance.
