Lodge Banquet

Written by: Tyler Schade

O-Shot-Caw Lodge Banquet was held at Camp Elmore on the weekend of March 3 - 5. As per every Banquet, this event is where Chapters gather and compete in a variety of games and challenges designed to test, reward, and entertain the competitive spirits of the nine chapters. Lodge Banquet is for all, not just those in scouting; so friends and family were invited to attend Lodge Banquet for great food and to watch the award ceremony. This Lodge Banquet, we had our very own Paldani Chapter Chief, Arturo Fernandez, receive the Vigil honor to recognize him for his exceptional service to our lodge. In addition, other arrowmen attained the Vigil accolade that evening. Equally important, on Friday night of Lodge Banquet, we had sixteen Ordeal members seal their ties in brotherhood, and out of those scouts we had six arrowmen in our chapter do so. Although sixteen scouts may not seem like many, the fact that we had nearly half of the candidates who participated in this year’s lodge banquet come from our chapter was impressive. Finally yet importantly, our chapter was awarded the Golden Arrow, for competing and wining most of the lodge games, which included Volleyball, Lodge Ball, Ultimate Frisbee, and Tug-of-War.

The Paldani officers are glad to serve such an active and spirited chapter. As always, we implore you to continue your activity within the Order of the Arrow. May the spirit of cheerful service and brotherly love march on.

April - Paldani

Dear Brothers,

There is so much to talk about, first let’s start with good evening to you all. Really I have only two things tonight, but one is a once in a life time event, and that was our 2016 Section Conference. You all saw the shows that Paldani put on for the conference, so I won’t bother wasting my breath on that. I would like to just thank the key people around this room that helped put on the shows and the people you didn’t see behind the scenes. Mr. Kudja, Ivan Lopez, Mr. Brown, Mr. Kerr, and the list goes on and on. Then you all saw the actors right, well, what you didn’t see was the countless hours of service (at least 50) each member contributed before the conference. And that’s not even including all the other meetings, the 50 hours was just in the 2 weeks before the conference. It’s because of them and the other Paldani chapter members, which came last minute to help out, that really pulled the show together and brought it into fruition, so let’s give them a big round of applause. Also on behalf of the Paldani chapter I would like to thank Brad and Will for their unmitigated support, not only for the conference, but for every subcommittee that was involved. Finally, in our last Chapter meeting, we had over 50 members in attendance, and we conducted Chapter officer nominations. Thank you Mr. Gilliland and South Florida Council for our pizza party, which we earned by having the most registered attendees at the Lodge Banquet.

Yours in Brotherhood,

Arturo F.

Dear Brothers,

The Paldani Chapter is overjoyed to have new brotherhood members. We are also very proud to have members receive their First year arrow man award.Congratulations to Mr. Kerr and Josh for having the Vigil honor bestowed on them, and congratulations to Mr. Kudja and Cody for earning the founders award. Paldani-O-Thon was very successful with roughly 45 youth and adults who came out. Section Conference wise we are on track with Gatherings we have the Friday nights hows mapped out and are working on pres how and Saturday currently. We just had our chapter meeting this past Monday where we spent around 10 minutes on business and had the rest of the time be only fellowship. We had approximately 55 people at the meeting and next Month we plan on holding our Chapter officers nominations.

Yours in Brotherhood,

Arturo F.
